Reader’s Digest Version of this week’s Torah Portion/Reading: Over time
, a span of a few hundred years, the Earth perished, but Noah, Family, and a
flock of animals were saved. When the
time came, proactive and procreation could successfully finally rebuild and
replenish, although ….now take 2! This
action and movement is rather exhausting and very laborious, but the message is
well taken OBVIOUSLY of ALL what must be done!
This is just like a child who knocks his/her Legos down and all over in
extreme frustration, only to RE-build it back up again with a gentler hand and
hopefully a more careful eyes and strategic plan of execution! Remember, Legos click and lock together and
it takes a lot to destruct, as well as to construct!
WE, as human-beings create, construct, destroy and dissemble, then Recreate
again in the same or another form and/or manner!!!
I have told this story before, but it is worth repeating most definitely-
When my son, Nathan was younger, he had a true love and fascination
with HIS Legos! He always had a plan of action, well thought out and he knew each
piece, like it was his own DNA! Nathan
could and would spend countless hours building Legos per the pictured
directions and go 'thru' the process (actually many times without looking or
reading them), and he would allow the building to stand in its existence for
some time. He was so proud and would show everybody his “model” several times and
indeed, he would wear a smile. Being the proud dad
that I am, I too watched in his own creative skills and results, while it was under
construction. To me, his thought process
was very cool and extremely unique on how it was created, and how Nathan’s mind
worked! In good time, he either would
get bored, or seriously peeved, that he ran out of pieces/blocks, or just
anxious and creative, so he destroyed and would tear it apart, demolishing,
destructing, ruining, disregarding and rebuild with the sincerest intention…….
and he would use the same exact pieces that he made a fire truck or Lego City of
San Francisco, and NOW would take his time and creativity, and reconstruct each
piece with his unique little hands and creative spirit into maybe The Statue of
Liberty (a few special pieces needed too), or the likes of Comerica Park!
Like that of our Earth and Noah, Nathan had the beautiful opportunity
to re-create, restructure, restart, and adapt,…and this really parallels the actions of
Noah and the Ark full of animals! Nathan had some or maybe a little disdain
with his Fire truck in time (actually boredom), and wanted to start new, and
showed his creativity, and RE-CREATING and building his own little world, with
his own signature and input.
We live in a world that is forever changing. We, as people change our
minds, WE GROW, WE EVOLVE….. We error, we try
again hopefully with great successes, implemented by our own imaginations and creativity!!!! We must be able to adjust, to adapt, to apply, to
understand the intrinsic aspect of building up and Recreating or creating. My very own child's example of playing, and his actions paralleled that of Noah. We can learn
a lot about sincerity, creativity, spirituality, religion, and belief from our
children and their innocent actions of REcreating!
