Walk With Sincere Purpose
“Is this the way you repay G-D…..Is he
not your Father, your Master? He made and established you.” (32:6)
The Torah teaches us that a person who
expects his/her children to grow into G-d fearing and loving people while
he/she walks and continues to follow a deviated path, that at times might even
seem lackadaisical, should honestly realize that he/she is NOT just acting for
him/herself, but for his/her own child, and those persons they surround! In fact, their own friends, family, and
surrounding community! Even if a parent sent his/her child to the finest school
in town, he/she MUST also augment the most correct behaviors to set an example
and be a fine teacher in their own environment as well. Plainly said, “Lead by example!” Be a stand up human being, not just in your
own home, but in your community, and beyond.
This same love and affection & lofty
expectations which he/she has for his/her child can be paralleled to your
relationship with G-d! The purpose of
G-d’s creation is definitely altruistic, so that G-d may reward you for
following certain precepts and walking a particular path. It most definitely easier said than done!
Practice, practice, and practice!!!!!!!!!!!! Proactive practice makes perfect!!!
We all fall from perfect, and we must
always remember our true obligations, not just as a parent, not just as a friend,
not just as one of many…..BUT as a loving and endearing person to ALL, and ALL the responsibilities
that go with the assigned position.
Yes, do we have a decision? Absolutely! Your actions do indeed speak louder than your
words! Thanks Mom and Dad for that one, as
they shared that exact thought, that exact practice into both my brother and me!
With leading by example, comes the
ultimate responsibility – you’re not just hopefully doing the right thing on
the outside, but you should always couple that with your thoughts/actions on
the inside! Then and only then, You’re
SHOWING what the right thing is by YOUR own actions! Make a positive and honest impact!
